Be A Smart Employee}

Be a Smart Employee

by

Kelly MooreIn today’s ultra competitive workplaces, it is very vital that not only you are an able worker but also a smarter worker. Any employer wants a worker who brings more to the table. Here are few tips on how to become a smart worker:1. Improve communication skills: A good communicator can not only place forward his/her ideas more effectively but also creates instant rapport and connection. Communication is not just about talking but also listening. So be a good listener as well and you will instantly feel the difference.2. Treat people well. People respond better when they are treated with respect. If you want to command respect, then treat others with respect. Just because somebody earns less doesn’t mean that s/he doesn’t deserves your respect. In an organization each one is your co-workers and should be treated as an equal.3. Be professional. You are in a job to do a job. Gossiping, back biting will not increase your popularity or your efficiency!4. Don’t indulge in camp politics. Never create camps and groups. It will show that you are biased and will not take impartial decisions.5. Be a team player. Most jobs require you to be a team player. Always give your full efforts. Go an extra mile for the success of the job and team.6. Fulfill your commitments. If you make any commitment, then fulfill it. People trust those you keep their promises.7. Support your co-workers in their endeavors. Forge partnerships with them and always credit them for their ideas and suggestions.9. Delegate, Delegate and Delegate. DO not micro manage all the stuff. Delegate work to your juniors and team members.10. Enjoy your work. You have to spend whole hours, days, weeks, months and years in your office. You cannot go through it with positive attitude. Enjoy your work and you will feel that work is not a big deal.11. Be a problem solver. Do not fret over small problems in the office. Take lead in offering solutions and fixing things.12. Pick your fights. If you fight every battle and issues then people will recognize you as a negative person. They will ignore you. Only fight for big and relevant issues.13. Be Proactive. Do not wait for orders or the work to be assigned to you. Be proactive. Deduce ways on how you can be of more value to your company.

Dress Code Etiquette For Black Tie Attire

Click Here To Find Out More About:

By Hendrik Pohl

Have you been invited to an event that requires ‘black tie attire’, and are a little uncertain what how to dress for the occasion? Below are all the basics you need to know to be dressed appropriately for a black tie function. If you follow the simple tips below you will avoid embarrassing fashion faux pas.

So, for a man, this should be easy, right? You have a black necktie, so you’re good to go! Not necessarily. While the standards vary from country to country and even from event to event, the general consensus is that black-tie means a tuxedo. A black or dark suit is inappropriate for traditional black tie, but would be an acceptable option for an invitation calling for ‘black tie optional’ attire. So, for traditional black tie wear a black tuxedo, black bow tie, and a tuxedo dress shirt. There are two kinds of classic tuxedo shirts: The wing tip collar shirt, and the turn-over collar dress shirt. The wing-tip collar shirt is the most classic type of shirt. It has a heavy starched collar that stands up. Only the tips are folded over. The wing-tip dress shirt might be a slightly uncomfortable for longer events. In this case you might do better with the turn-over collar dress shirt. This type of shirt has a collar like an ordinary dress shirt. It is basically a formal version of the ordinary dress shirt that uses French cuffs, worn with cufflinks, and decorations in form of folds in the front. Such folds are also called pleat.

As for your date, this is an opportunity for her to flaunt her absolute best. Bring out the DeLaurentis! There are far less restrictions on black-tie attire for women, as long as it’s very formal. While basic black is always a good bet, colors, sparkle and glitz are perfectly fine. After all, she’s got the perfect accessory: You, dressed in a color that matches anything in her wardrobe. Although the classic full-length gown is probably most widely accepted, a skirt and top may work to semi-formal, or ‘black tie optional’ events. The skirt hem should fall below her knees; anything shorter is generally not considered formal. Low backs or plunging necklines may be suitable, but consider the guest list before trying anything daring.

How about accessories? For the gentleman, cufflinks definitely belong, and those with a little bit of flash – diamonds or emeralds perhaps, will add a touch of class. If you don’t have a dress watch, don’t wear a watch. The ladies have more leeway here, as well. Diamond bangles, a small sequined handbag, cubic zirconia earrings and matching broche or bracelets – accessorize, but keep it tasteful.

Formal shoes are an absolute must for both of you and they should be immaculate. Guys, if you don’t know how to shine your shoes, have them done professionally. Gals, wear the shoes that best bring your ensemble together. Coordination is the key.

Finally, remember that you need to look as good as your outfit. A visit to the hair stylist is in order. A clean trim for him, including any facial hair, and a simple up do for her. Consider a manicure. Yes, both of you. Check your smile and if necessary, get to your dentist for a cleaning or use a commercial whitening treatment. Remember the deodorant and mouthwash. It may be a long, warm night and you’ll likely be in close proximity to people during your conversations.

Still confused? ‘Black-Tie Attire’ is a snap if you mimic the right icons. Guys, think James Bond (any of them). Girls, go with Audrey Hepburn.

Do You Need House Extensions Planning Permission

by

Richard FinchHouse Extensions Planning Permission is not always necessary but it is important to find out what is required in each specific case. Many people think that obtaining permission is going to be a difficult task but if you follow the correct guidelines and stay within your allowances then it should not be difficult. It is best to always make sure whether you do or don’t require planning permission before you start anything to avoid wasting any time.

It will not be necessary for you to file an application for planning permission if the area of land covered by the extensions is no more than half of the land surrounding the existing house and that the height of the extensions will not exceed the height of the existing roof. If you are planning any alterations on the existing roof however, you will need to obtain permission,

If your property and the planned extensions are facing a highway then it will be necessary to get the appropriate permission.

When you are planning your extensions and you want to avoid having to file for permission then you can simply re look your plans and take a few things into consideration. This may save you the time and hassle of planning permission.

When you are considering your building materials, make sure that they are the same or similar in appearance to what was used on the existing house, if you differ from what was originally used you will have to get permission.

If your extensions include the construction of a balcony, veranda or raised platform of any type, you will have to get planning permission for this. As will you if you are planning the alteration or replacement of any kind of chimney, vent pipe or microwave antenna.

If you are after house extension planning permission on a single storey building then take note that the rear extension must stay within or in line with the rear wall of the original house and may not protrude further out by more than three or four meters, for an attached and detached house respectively. Any rear extensions to a single story home must not exceed the maximum height of four meters. There are also restrictions on the eves heights and these must be carefully taken into consideration when planning your house extensions.

When planning extensions on a double storey house remember to keep within seven meters of the rear boundary and make sure than you plan for any upper level windows to be 1.7 meters above the floor and for them to be obscure glazed.

If your existing house resides on designated land you will not be permitted to add any side extensions and no rear extension may exceed one storey. You will also not be allowed to clad any exterior of the house.

If you are in Wales then different rules apply and these should be further investigated if necessary. The planning permission requirements do not differ substantially but there are a few minor things which will need to be taken into consideration.

It is always possible to arrange a free consultation to determine whether planning permission will be required for your alterations. Once this is determined the rest will be smooth sailing.

Writing Successful K SA Factorss For T SA Positions

Click Here To Find Out More About:

By Jason Kay

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) position applications commonly require you to answer four or more knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA) questions. A KSA statement is a statement about the unique qualities needed to fill a particular position. Knowing how to write an effective answer to these TSA KSAs can make the difference between getting the job and getting left out.

The TSA uses KSAs to help determine the applicants eligibility for the job. In other words, your answer to each KSA tells the TSA whether you would be an appropriate candidate for the job. Well-written answers to KSA statements can land you an interview, whereas poorly written or incomplete answers can disqualify you right off the bat.

Common TSA KSAs

1. Technical Competency: Knowledge of the steps and associated procedures involved in acquiring, deploying, and maintaining security screening systems and technologies.

2. Decisiveness: Exercises good judgment by making sound and well-informed decisions; perceives the impact and implications of decisions; makes effective and timely decisions, even when data are limited or solutions produce unpleasant consequences; is proactive and achievement oriented.

3. Oral Communication: Makes clear and convincing oral presentations to individuals or groups (including briefings to industry executives and high level government officials, etc.), listens effectively and clarifies information as needed; facilitates an open exchange of ideas and fosters atmosphere of open communication.

4. Planning and Evaluating: Determines objectives and strategies; organizes work, set priorities, determines resource requirements; coordinates with other parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors and evaluates the progress and outcomes of operational plans; anticipates potential threats or opportunities.

5. Human Resources: Assesses current and future staffing needs based on organizational goals and budget realities. Using merit principles, ensures staff is appropriately selected, developed, utilized, appraised and rewarded; takes corrective action.

6. Leadership: Inspires, motivates and guides others toward goal accomplishment; coaches, mentors, and challenges subordinates; adapts leadership style to a variety of situations models high standards of honesty, integrity, trust, openness, and respect for the individuals by applying these to daily behaviors.

How to Write Successful TSA KSA Responses

Writing TSA KSA answers makes many people nervous mainly because they dont know how to respond to these questions. But with the right knowledge youll find that writing a winning answer to any KSA is a breeze.

1. Be complete. It is important to answer each KSA completely. Simply saying, Yes, I have that skill, will get you nowhere. Treat each KSA like a news article: who, what, why, where, when, and how are all integral parts of the story. Tell the TSA what knowledge or skill you have that satisfies their requirements; where, when, how, and why you got it; and who you got it from. And dont forget the other how: how your skill relates to what the employer is looking for.

2. Provide concrete examples. A vague assertion that you have the necessary skills for the job is not going to convince a prospective employer. One of the most important aspects to successful KSA responses is providing specific examples of where and when you gained the experience. Be sure to tie your answer back to the KSA statement by stating how your examples give you the skills needed for the job.

3. Be concise. The TSA is not interested in your creative writing abilities, so keep the fluff to a minimum. Answer each KSA in plain language, so that your answers are simple and easy to follow. There is a fine line between answering a KSA completely and sounding like a pompous windbag. Although your KSA answers should be as long as it needs to be to fully answer the question, most answers should be to one page in length.

4. Think outside the box. Even if you think you dont have any experience to satisfy a certain KSA, dont leave it blank. Instead, consider other areas of your life that may have given you the necessary skills. Not every KSA must be answered purely with job experience. Training, volunteer work, internships, and academic projects and awards may also demonstrate that you satisfy the requirements of the position.

5. Sell yourself! KSAs give you an opportunity to set yourself apart from other applicants. Use these documents to sell your best qualities and paint your worst in a more pleasing light. If your answers demonstrate confidence in your abilities, an employer will be much more likely to believe that you can do the job.

6. Edit! Most professional documents require editing and proofreading to verify that they are free of errors. However, unlike other professional documents, your answers to the KSA statements have a lot riding on them: they are your only chance at a good first impression. Therefore, you need to take pains to make sure every word is in its place no typos, misspellings, or discrepancies between your resume and your KSA answers.

Success Seekers Wanted

KSAs have one purpose: to find the best person for the job. This is the case for all positions, but especially so for the TSA given the high stakes nature of their mission. In order to write successful KSA answers, you need to assume that you are that best person. Take your time with each answer, choose the best examples of your knowledge and experience, and edit your answers until they shine. With the right amounts of confidence and care, your KSA answers will open doors for you that otherwise would have remained closed.

A Review Of The Amerisave Income Opportunity

Click Here To Find Out More About:

By Brian Garvin And Jeff West

There are many ways and means to make money as your own boss or at least essentially so, and if you are looking for a way to get into a more independent field of business, there has never been a better time to start! Of course, it is still important to remember that there are some companies that can save you a fair amount of money when you are doing different, fairly common activities.

One of the ones that is getting fairly well-known is Amerisave, and with Amerisave, you are saving money when you are doing something fairly innocuous and common, that is, buying a house. With Amerisave, you can participate in their Home Rewards Programs, and with the rebates that you receive, along with the services that you are eligible for, you could be saving thousands.

Essentially the way that Amerisave works is that it has put together many small partnerships and alliances with various different services and goods. Because all of these goods and services are linked through Amerisave, you’ll find that there is plenty of different savings that you become eligible for when you are going through Amerisave.

With the cash rebates, you’ll find that you are saving plenty of money, and that in addition to that, you’ll have trained real estate agents who are ready, willing and eager to help you sell your home, all in your own location. With this program, you are promised a rebate of roughly 25% of their commission, as long as your house retails for more than 135,000 dollars. All of this is possible with a quick application that can be pre-approved immediately.

Amerisave is a company that pays commissions to reps who sell homes and mortgage related services and are compensated on a multi-level basis. The preliminary research we did on this company shows they check out with flying colors. But keep in mind that these programs that are similar have had a history of starting out great, then having issues years down the road. But in any case, before you join, since the program is so financially lucrative, it might be worth it if you take a trip up there and visit them just to make sure everything is how you anticipate it to be before you invest any fees to get started, since it is a big commitment.

When it comes right down to it, it is important to realize that this program, while it can save you a great deal of money, essentially relies on you having a certain amount of money in the first place. When you are working on a way to make sure that your house sells for more money, there are many different short cuts that you can take, but unless you are in a certain income bracket and neighborhood in the first place, there is a good chance that Amerisave will be a little more trouble than it is worth. On the other hand, it is important to note that there is a great deal of convenience that can be found when you are purchasing all your goods from one place.

At the end of the day, when you are wondering whether or not this opportunity is for you, consider the real monetary value that this deal can bring you and decide based on that number.

Should Your Life Insurance Policy Be Written In Trust?

Click Here To Find Out More About:

By Michael Challiner

According to one of the largest UK life insurance companies, just 1% of life policies are written in trust. That is disgraceful and reflects poorly on the financial industry.

Let’s explain.

If your life insurance policy is Written in Trust then, in the event of a claim, the insurance company pays out directly to the beneficiaries you name on the policy. The significance of this is easily missed.

It means that if the policy is Written in Trust, the proceeds from the policy never form part of your legal estate and are not subject to Inheritance Tax. The importance of this is illustrated by the following figures:

Take Mr A. He’s a widower and wants to leave everything equally to his two sons. He owns his home which is currently worth 245,000 with a 10,000 outstanding mortgage. His investments are valued at 52,000 and his car and other chattels are worth 18,000. He also owns a life insurance policy for 100,000 which is not written in trust. We assume that the costs of administering his estate and obtaining probate would be 5,000.

If Mr A were to die now, his estate would be worth 400,000 less Inheritance Tax. Inheritance Tax is currently levied at 40% on the value of his estate over and above 275,000 that means that the taxman will walk off with 50,000 and his sons would each receive 175,000.

Now lets assume exactly the same figures except that in this case the life insurance policy is Written in Trust with Mr A’s sons as equal beneficiaries. Because the life insurance company pays out directly to his sons, they each receive 50,000 straight away and non of the money is included in Mr A’s estate. This means that his estate is now worth 300,000 and the taxman can only walk away with 10,000. Each of his sons receives 20,000 more and tax-free!

So simply by signing a few forms, Mr A saves 40,000 tax!

Is there a catch? No all the documentation is standard and is provided totally free of charge by the life insurance company. Your broker through whom you buy the policy, should complete the documentation for you, again free of charge. All you have to do is give the details of the beneficiaries to the broker and sign the form. Solicitors are not required. In the event of a claim, the life insurance company then has to pay out directly to the beneficiaries. Job done! Poor Mr Taxman!

Even if your policy is designed to repay a mortgage, it should be Written in Trust for your partner. Then, rather than your estate receiving the money and using it pay off the mortgage, the money can be paid directly to your partner. This saves legal delays, solicitor’s and probate fees and loads of hassle. Your partner can then use the money to personally pay off the mortgage. Whether this also saves you Inheritance tax will depend on the value of your estate and how you have structured your Will.

So we believe that a life insurance policy Written I Trust is a win win situation. And there aren’t many of those around these days! We can’t see any drawbacks.

Bye the way, no matter what you decide to do, always ensure that you have an up-to-date Will.
